My name is Kelcie and I have endometriosis and vaginismus. I have had one laparoscopic excision surgery; have been in and out of pelvic floor physical therapy for vaginismus; and am currently in counseling to process my anxiety and sexual abuse/trauma.
It took me almost 12 years to find answers to my chronic pain and have my experience validated by medical professionals, and that's just too long. I am passionate about creating space for women to share their own experiences with chronic pain/illness, find answers, and belong to a community where they are seen, heard, and known!
I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, Nate, and our two cats, Chip and Joanna. While these things have had a direct impact on me and my quality of life, they have also had a pretty big impact on Nate and our marriage. Endometriosis has affected our day-to-day life at times; and vaginismus and past sexual abuse have both directly impacted our sex life.
For the last five years of our marriage, Nate has been by my side through it all to take care of me, advocate for me, and share in the pain and searching for answers. He has fought for answers just as hard as I have, and I wouldn't be where I am today without him. This space is just as much for men as it is for women!
